Visit from an author!

Here is MJF and MBC listening to Ashley foots dad. He was talking about the books he has illustrated and written. He has published 1 children's book. He spoke to us about the process of writing, editing and publishing a book. This book took him about 4 years to finish! 

He signed a book for MJF and MBC. It is called the diary of Geoffrey Blip and showed us the draft of his novel. We are going to read his book together as a class :) 

MEH writers workshop

In middle school we are doing writers workshop. It's a topic where we bring a seed and write about it. Here are the 8 stages. 

Stage.1 seeding 2 conference 3 drafting 4 conference 5 publishing 6 conference 7 printer 8 start over.

Maths Fun in MJF and MBC

Today in maths we had rotations on the iPads, computers, brain training on the ds and a teacher group with a maths grid challenge.

Writers workshop

   

 In the MJF class room we were publishing stories on the computer and on paper for writers workshop.

In the hallway some kids were writing a draft for writer's workshop. Some other kids were working in Mr Beamer's  class room.

In Miss Temple's class we are doing seeds.

Rowan of Rin in MEH

In MEH we have been reading Rowan of Rin. It starts off a little boring but it gets better!! It is basically about a boy named Rowan is getting stronger throughout the journy of saving his town. The water from the river stopped and everyone was thirsty. Sheba said to the Stevan hearts... "Seven hearts the journy makes, sevan ways the hearts will break" 

We loved the book so now we are reading the second one.

Middle School Incursion - Australia's Journey
